Embodying Language – Bilimankhwe Arts and Shakespeare in and out of Malawi

Bilimankhwe and the University of Chester are delighted to invite you to an afternoon of lectures, workshops and recorded performances by leading intercultural theatre company Bilimankhwe International Theatre.

Do you have an interest in intercultural theatre and theatre in languages other than English? Then this is your opportunity to take part in innovative research into audience responses to intercultural and non-English theatre performances. You will enjoy lectures by Dr Brian Desmond and Dr Amy Bonsall, watch recorded performances of Bilimankhwe’s The Tempest  (Directed by Kate Stafford) and Romio ndi Julieti (Directed by Amy Bonsall) and a workshop led by Malawi’s leading choreographer Shyne Phiri and director Amy Bonsall.
