our words make worlds

Multilingual Poetry as a Catalyst for Change

A free event, organized by Dr Valentina Gosetti and Dr Daniel Finch-Race, exploring how cultural heritage and diversity are rooted in the words that make up our world.

11:00-12:00: Roundtable discussion with performance by Michèle Métail.

12:30-13:30: Multilingual poetry translation - interactive public event.

We invite you to have fun with languages from varied parts of the world, some of which are on the verge of vanishing forever. You’ll have the opportunity to hear leading French poet Michèle Métail and see translations curated by renowned Bristolian poet Rogan Wolf. To get involved, you don’t need to be a linguist – what matters is enthusiasm for something a bit different. Refreshments will be provided.

For tickets please see the eventbrite page.

With support from the Language Acts and Worldmaking Small Grants scheme, as well as the Bristol Poetry Institute, the Centre for Material Texts, and the Faculty of Arts at the University of Bristol, and the School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences at the University of New England, Armidale.
